HS2 Welfare Compounds

As part of the government’s HS2 project, NRG UK Group were tasked with providing lighting for a number of compounds nationwide.

Depending on the location of the compound, NRG had to pay special consideration to the local wildlife and also the sensibilities of any nearby residents whilst abiding by HS2’s ILP Guidance Codes as well as HS2’s Code of Construction.

On a number of occasions, we liaised with the Environmental Agencies on behalf of the client to find solutions to any of the concerns caused by the scope of these projects.

The lighting designs supplied ensured that the required levels were met and the addition of IoT lighting controls helped to manage the lighting throughout the day and night to reduce both energy consumption across the sites and appeasing the local residents.
